The Muse (café, deli and bar) brand was developed with a very clear brief, in that change is good... in fact change is essential, but it’s important to consider the surrounding environment with which Muse trades within.

So in a nutshell, how do you develop a brand to replace an already strong brand that has a point of difference, yet doesn’t require a total reinstallation of the major cosmetic elements?

Well, we worked on the premise that the name, logo and supporting brand elements had to evoke quality, tradition and longevity whilst illustrating a certain flourish. We then took the existing colour palettes and worked on styling a strong and iconic design to suit - putting the emphasis on the new as apposed to the old.

The Potting Shed design team quickly settled on the marriage between the art nouveau style and contemporary takes on classic fonts.

We introduced a certain proportion of filigree (the swirly bits) to balance off the logo and subsequent brand elements.

It’s a brand that we’re extremely proud of as the client had total faith in our thought process and logic. It’s also a brand that we’re looking forward to developing into different areas over the next 12 months.
